A Laser Bleph is a specialized treatment for tightening skin around the eyes. It is a highly effective procedure designed for individuals with loose and/or wrinkles skin around their eyes. This minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure produces minimum downtime. Treatments take a little longer, given the sensitivity of the area. Anesthesia is not required.. Laser Bleph Candidates
During your consultation, you will be told if you are good candidate for a laser bleph. If you have melisma, you are not a good candidate since the warmth from the laser can darken pigment.
Laser Skin Tightening Procedure
During laser bleph treatment, the laser is set to a 1319 wavelength. It is directed at the deep layers of the skin on the treatment area, gradually heating the tissue to trigger the body’s healing process. It is able to heat the deep tissues without harming the outer layer of skin. The heat from the laser beam causes the tissue to contract and the body to produce more collagen. The remodeling of collagen over time leads to a general improvement in the appearance of lax or saggy skin.
Treatment takes 45 minutes, and multiple sessions are recommended for the best results. Sessions are booked at three-week intervals, and three to four sessions are usually effective. (Do they really need multiple sessions?)
Recovering from Laser Bleph
Laser bleph recovery requires minimal time; patients may return to their normal activities almost immediately. This is a great option for someone with a busy lifestyle who cannot afford to spend days at home recovering from a more invasive procedure.
Benefits and Risks of Laser Bleph
There are many benefits to laser bleph: it is non-invasive, not painful, and requires no downtime. It may be used on all skin types. Patients can resume their normal activities right after the procedure, and an improvement in the quality of the skin is usually noticeable immediately. The results will continue to improve over time as more collagen is produced. The results can last for a long time if the patient takes care of his or her skin with proper nutrition and exercise. Risks are rare, but include temporary redness, swelling, numbness and scarring.
